Lost or Found a Pet
Lost Pet
If your pet goes missing, it is a good idea to contact the following with a description of your pet
- Local Vet Practices, in case your pet has been injured
- Dog Warden
- Local Rescue Centres
- Local Radio Station
- Garda Siochana
Advertising (with a photograph) on supermarket notice boards and in the local press is also an option.
Found a Pet
If you have found a pet firstly check if it has contact details on its collar or identity tag.
If not, it is advisable to come by the practice and we will check if the pet has a microchip and is in good health.
Contact the list above with a description of the pet and place an advertisement in local shops.
How to prevent loosing your Pet
Microchipping is available for both dog and cats. We insert a permanent chip under the skin in the neck area. Vets and pounds can scan this chip and then using the information stored on a national database reunite owners with their pets.
It is also a good idea to have an identity tag with your contact details fitted on your pets’ collar. These are also available from our clinic.
